This was the year 2008. Great year. It was the year I cried because I wasn't watching Angelina Jolie live from the red carpet...a pretty shameful event...I wonder what happened to the Can-cam, it was pretty cool.
So recapping the current state - for this year's edition we have Steven Spielberg as the Jury President taking over from an European director. We have Jane Campion returning to the scene as the Head Jury of the Cinéfondation and Short Films. Portuguese filmmaker Miguel Gomes was named the Head Jury of Critics Week. One of these days, in mid April, we'll be listening the films coming to Cannes, including the Official Selection. We have The Great Gatsby as the opening film and Zulu, an South African based story, will be the film of the closing ceremony. In brief words, pretty US of A based Cannes!
Waiting patiently for Cannes 13.
