  1. I pray that Emily Blunt goes back to her roots on this one. I feel that since she has gone the Hollywood route, she has lost that spark that set her above the rest. She is a brilliant actor but you wouldnt much know it given her latest work. I want to see her access the part of her that gave us My Summer of Love.

  2. Yes, I guess she has been a bit unfortunate with some of her recent films...I haven't even seen Gulliver's Travels.

My Summer of Love stayed in my mind the whole night, it was so intense and scary. Oh, and excruciatingly disturbing.
She was absolutely stunning in Gideon's Daughter too. I love that sequence when she sings.

  3. But you know, she may have minor films like Wild Target but I absolutely love her in that one. She's so funny. I think her timings in the film were always so neat. Oh and I love Billy Nighy (they went from father-daughter to lovers).
And I'm really curious to see her in Your Sister's Sister and see how the film works (I wanna believe in Lynn Shelton, she has so much heart); I'm feeling a little mixed about this film, I don't know why, but I really hope it turns out ok.

I was so disppointed with Jason Segel's The Five-Year Engagement. I'd like to ask Jason where on earth is this film different from any other romantic comedies? Because he said he wanted to do something different, etc....

  4. I forgot about Gideon's daughter, but I do remember that she was good in that upon second thought. I was pleasantly surprised with Wild Target cause she was really funny. But it really is SUmmer that always comes to mind of how brilliant she can be.

I too, love Bill NIghy. I love him in Page Eight with Rachel Weisz. It is interesting the kind of chemistry he has with such a different age range of leading ladies. I can't even bring myself to watch The Five Year Engagement. Just can't do it.

  5. Naturally!

I liked Page Eight. (Judy Davis is always awesome!) It's the chemistry and it's how he goes from comedy to drama, he's always so entertaining. And there's so much work that I haven't seen of him...

Right, you really don't need to. I rarely think of money when I go to the cinema, but in this case I thought about it, it was a waste. (Besides, Chris Pratt and Alison Brie steal the show!)

  6. Hey... Totally off subject. You must see Lawless whenever it comes to you. Very solid film. Subtle but great performances. I thought the story could have been tighter, but I think that is what you get a musician writes the screen play and not a writer.

  7. Great, thanks for recommending, I was up for it anyway ;)
(Unfortunately I don't really know when I will have the opportunity to see it; very likely that will take some time).
